Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.

US actor Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a statement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
