Afcon 2025: Group A Permutations

It's a tricky picture. It always is where only some third-placed sides qualify. This is the current state before this evening's final set of matches.

  • The Atlas Lions 4 points, +2 goal difference
  • The Eagles 2 points, 0 goal difference (goals scored 2)
  • Zambia 2pts, 0 goal difference (goals scored 1)
  • Comoros 1 point, -2 goal difference

Briefly, Morocco are probably fine but will want to defeat their opponents and top the group. Zambia likely requires a draw or better against the hosts. Comoros probably need to overcome their rivals, who will probably be okay with a draw.

Many possibilities, various outcomes, plenty of scenarios.
