Israel's participation in soccer does not appear on the program for a Fifa council meeting in the Swiss city on this Thursday.

This gathering of FIFA's primary ruling council occurs during growing calls on soccer governing bodies to penalize Israel after a United Nations investigative panel found in a recent report that Israeli forces has carried out mass atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza.

Even though the topic isn't on the official schedule, it could be discussed as part of 'miscellaneous'.

The Israeli national team are actively involved in European qualifiers for this summer's global football championship, and the Israeli team the Tel Aviv club are competing in the UEFA tournament.

Increasing Calls for Measures

The advocacy group is among the latest groups to urge Fifa, which organises the World Cup, and Uefa, which organises continental tournaments, to exclude the national football body from their competitions.

FIFA deputy president the football executive has said that UEFA needs to render the ruling.

"Primarily, [Israel] is a member of UEFA, similar to I handle a participant of my region for various reasons. They must address that," he stated.

Global Tournament Qualification Status

Israel hold third place in their World Cup qualifying group - organised by Uefa - multiple points trailing group leaders the Norwegian squad.

International Reactions

At the same time, sports brand the brand said allegations that it asked the IFA to remove its logos from their uniforms are "completely false".
